As seasoned renovators ourselves, we understand the importance of having a realistic budget for all of our projects before we commence. When undertaking a bathroom renovation on the Gold Coast, there are several factors that significantly influence the overall budget:
Tiles. Material, size, position.
Not all tiles are made the same. The materials differ significantly and as such, so does the price of the tile. Also for tilers, a large square/rectangle tile is cheaper to lay than a smaller subway or finger tile and herringbone is more expensive than vertical stack when deciding on which way to lay the tiles.

Plumbing
Are you moving water and waste points? Do we need to cut up concrete to do so?
How much of the bathroom is required to be waterproofed?
We work on the floor plan to ensure that the best flow is achieved for your bathroom and this sometimes means moving plumbing to accommodate.
Lighting
Do you want feature wall lights, LED lighting under your shaving cabinet or vanity (or both!), or do you want natural lighting and want to install a skylight over the shower instead? Again, there are plenty of choices to bring beautiful lighting to your bathroom.

Vanities, Bath & Basins
Off the shelf vs custom made. Single basin vs double basin. Stone vs plastic finish. The options are endless and so is the difference in the price for your renovation.
Mirrors and Storage
Fans of “The Block” know that head height storage is a must for the judges, but the price to stick a mirror on the wall is much lower than recessing a shaving cabinet into the wall. Not only is the shaving cabinet much more expensive to purchase, there are added cabinetry costs involved with framing out the walls to accommodate a recessed cabinet.
Fixtures and fittings
Gone are the days when the only option was chrome tapware. Now there are so many beautiful colours and materials available to customise your bathroom with stylish fixtures and fittings. Again, the price difference between a chrome basin set that you would find at a hardware supply shop vs a quality supplier with a premium colour range can be $$$.

We’re happy to work with our clients to deliver ALLLLL of their desires, but it’s important to note that with each item on the wish list, the higher the bathroom budget must be.
For a bathroom renovation in 2024 with Gold Coast builder, Dellwood Constructions expect to pay between $28,000 - $35,000 for a small bathroom full renovation with minimal plumbing changes.
As you start to add in each of the factors listed above, you can expect to pay between $35,000 - $60,000 for a fully tiled bathroom, a large bath, double basin vanity, lighting, quality fixtures and fittings and wall to wall shower screens.
